Star pastry chef Dru Tevis and Husband, Chase Cline, open Brûlé, a new bakery in Dewey Beach. Now, sugar lovers can taste his treats in multiple locations. In September, Tevis and husband, Chase Cline, opened Brûlé, a commercial bakery inside Baked by The Dewey Post. The coffee shop is owned by Lo and Ashley Skarda, who also run The Dewey Post across the street. Baked goods are offered at both locations, as well as at Brûlé’s stall at Schellville, the holiday village in Tanger Outlets.

A Delaware pastry chef is seeing sweet success on the Food Network. Dru Tevis, SoDel Concepts’ corporate pastry chef, is currently competing on Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship. The competition series airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. wrapping up with the finale on Dec. 19.  

Delaware Today named Dru Tevis the Best Chef Downstate in the magazine’s July issue. Tevis is the corporate pastry chef for SoDel Concepts, which received four additional honors.

Doug Ruley, vice president of culinary operations for SoDel Concepts, will cook for a record-breaking fifth time at the James Beard House in New York on Dec. 13. His team includes Ronnie Burkle, Maurice Catlett, Ryan Cunningham, Dru Tevis, Maggie Cellitto, and Chad McMaster.

SoDel Concepts took home top honors during the annual competition, which benefits local families in need.
